Heartgram - Physician’s CVD Risk Calculator (Framingham)

Heartgram is the easy-to-use calculator for estimating the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). It was developed in collaboration with cardiologists and physicians and designed to be the only CVD risk app on your iPhone. It saves time inputting patient data, facilitates collaborative patient risk discussions and provides a simple risk label for your EHR patient notes.

Heartgram uses the ATP III guidelines, which came out of the groundbreaking Framingham Heart Study. This calculation provides an accurate 10 year risk estimate of myocardial infarction or cardiovascular death based on several patient risk factors: sex, age, cholesterol, HDL, blood pressure, use of hypertension meds, and smoker status. Results fall between <1% and 30%, with corresponding risk labels from very low risk to very severe risk.

This tool is designed to estimate risk for adults aged 20 and older who do not already have heart disease.
